January, 2002 - Priority Emergency Medical Services

2002 Ford Explorer Owner's Vehicle

Priority Emergency Medical Services, Incorporated is a fairly new ambulance service based in Hall County, Georgia.  C-Comm manages all of their communications equipment as well as emergency lights and sirens.  Their fleet consists of 6 Ford "modu-van" type ambulances.  The owner recently purchased a 2002 Ford Explorer and wanted emergency equipment installed.  The solution?  C-Comm 911!  We sat down with the owner and went over all of his emergency equipment options and what best fit the vehicle.  Here is what we came up with; The owner wanted a "clean roof" package so we went with 2 Whelen Slimlighters - 1 in the front and 1 in the rear.  He also wanted hide-a-way strobes, so we installed 4 hide-a-ways in the rear, (in red and clear tail light assemblies), and 2 hide-a-ways in the front turn signal assemblies.  We also installed Whelen compact grille strobes in the grille.  The siren speaker is a Whelen SA314P mounted directly behind the grille.  We also installed a Whelen UHF2150A headlight flasher for the added "punch" of alternating headlights.  The customer already had 2 Motorola Spectra two-way radios - 1 VHF and 1 UHF with a Systems 9000 siren.  We installed the radios and siren in the rear of the vehicle with the 2 Whelen SPS660 strobe power supplies, which drive the hide-a-way strobes and grille strobes.  The customer wanted to keep the dash clean and free of all switch boxes.  Our suggestion?  C-Comm 911 offered a custom OEM look-alike switch package for the slimlighters, hide-a-way strobes, and grille lights built into the center OEM console.  The switch is used to trigger a relay that sends power to all of the warning lights.  As always, C-Comm 911 used our custom built fused power distribution center.  Priority Emergency Medical Services took delivery of their newly outfitted emergency vehicle on Tuesday, January 22, 2002 and were extremely pleased with the job we did for them!
